We're a crime/mafia roleplay set in the present-day Chicago.

After bombing the harbour, the new gang in town, Enigma, all but declared war on the most powerful family in the city, the Bianchi Family. Police struggled to capture the culprits and were well on their way to build a solid case against the Bianchi, but their hard work was set back once the police department was bombed. Now, the war between the two sides is more heated than ever, and the casualties only tend to grow.

DELILAH BIANCHI

A Curfew
Could be the end of us few
The Golden Crown was still one of her biggest pride regarding her family's wealth and power. It was still standing after all these years and it rarely had a falter in its business line. She had to admit, her sister did a good job at managing the Casino business in its entirety, but the one who was assuring the Golden Crown's everlasting glory was someone she perhaps had more trust in. JACOPO BIANCHI was more trustful to her than her very own unpredictable sister. Sister who was still in the process of going into trial, and who will very likely end up in some mental hospital somewhere. It was truly despicable the way things were going down, but alas there weren't many options left besides prison when so many charges were pressed against her. Roxanne will have to take care of herself while Delilah did her best to manage the Bianchi business and try to find a breach in the system to get her back. She wasn't entirely sure she wanted her back, but being all alone in all this mess ... perhaps a crazy sister wasn't so bad.

In any case, she was walking out of a simple black car, staying low key today to talk with the Golden Crown's manager, Jacopo. Things had just hit a dire situation, and right now, the Golden Crown might be one of the most important part of Delilah's big family. Southside was in riots, and it was partly her fault. After her dealing with Ryan, there was little time between her taking action and the riots starting. Now she had no control and the only reliable and actually quite legal business she had in hand could suffer plenty from this mistake.

It was late, and Delilah knew she was breaking a newly installed curfew by being at the Casino tonight. The Casino itself had the front lights sparkling like always, but the lights inside were dim, mostly turned off because of the lack of clients. Oh there were a few people inside, mostly members of outside mafias and her own men, gambling with a small glass of their favorite drink. But the atmosphere was far more grim than usual and when Delilah walked in, their heads barely turned. Only checking if it were a cop or a new face. It was only the Godmother, nothing could possibly be wrong with that presence?

She walked in the large halls, searching for Jacopo, her heels discrete on the carpeted floor. There were a few things that needed to be discussed, but the main issue now was that curfew that cut their clients income by more than half their daily number. Southside will have to calm down quickly, or else....

"If you can't find something to live for, then find something to die for."

JACOPO BIANCHI

The Crown Curfew

Jacopo was somewhat confused on how he felt about the current situation of Chicago; curfew, riots, all that stuff. He was always confused towards the reasoning behind riots; 'Why would you destroy the streets and buildings of where you live? Why destroy people's vehicles and buildings? Why burn down stores and start fires in the streets? Are you not trying to better your living space?" He sighed and took a gulp of rum from his glass. As he thought of the reasoning behind the people's riots, he began to feel quite angry. "Riot away, little pawns." He spoke in his head. "When it's over in a couple of days, all will be the same, and you'll be the ones living in a broken and burned down neighborhood." At this point it was the alcohol speaking, but there was more truth to Jacopo's words than he would realize upon his awakening on the morrow; people are hurt or die, buildings and cars burn, people are arrested, and the laws are simply more strict. In the end, the Bianchi family will still rule over the city.

He overlooked the Golden Crown's main room; it was empty, which simply made him angrier, sipping his alcoholic drink once more. "Just kill them all, it'll end more quickly. Then maybe we could get some people in this damn place and actually make money." Jacopo might have been taking things a little too personal at this point, but ever since the riots began, less and less profit was being made. The casino itself made next to no profit, even the women were being less used since the curfew was installed, the only things keeping the Golden Crown Casino afloat are the guns and the drugs.

Jacopo's hands began to shake a little as stress kicked in. He reached into his pant's pocket and pulled out his pills, which helped with his bad heart. Popping one into his mouth, he washed it down with the rest of his rum, not the most healthy choice, but that wasn't what he was worried about. From the corner of his eye, he saw the main doors of the casino open, revealing the Godmother of the family. He quickly got rid of the empty glass in his hands which contained the alcohol and made his way towards her.

"Delilah," He addresses. "What a pleasant surprise, I was going insane from..." He looked behind him, towards the empty gambling room that once had hundreds of people a night. "Well, all of this. Please, let's talk somewhere more suiting, follow me to the office." They made their way trough the casino floor and to the elevator which they entered and Jacopo pressed the top-level button. "I know it's obvious, but this riot needs to end, sooner the better, otherwise, the business will lose thousands. More than we already have."

They eventually made it to Jacopo's office, the Bianchi opening the door to let the Godmother inside. "Welcome to my office, or since recent times - my home." He pulled out a chair that stood in front of his desk and gestured for Delilah to sit, as he sat down in his own seat. "Ever since the riot started I've been trying to do damage control and when I finished, I would have already missed curfew, therefore I simply stayed here." It was then that he had forgotten that his cousin had not come to the casino to hear of his ordeals. "What brings you all the way here, Delilah? I doubt you broke curfew simply to speak of business, we could have done that during the day, after all."

DELILAH BIANCHI

A Curfew
Could be the end of us few
How nervously Jacopo greeted her.... it was a sight to struck even the most absent of minds. The man usually was very much in control of the situation, or at least he looked like so. Now what? He was stressing over the fact that his Casino was empty? Well.... who wouldn't. Delilah was here because she felt worried about her business, but the sight of the empty hall, the heart of gambling and secrets unfold or slipped from tongue to tongue was like seeing a ghost town. The silence was perhaps what was the most unbearable in Delilah's mind. She loved silence, that was a certainty, but she liked it when she was the one making it so. Here, she could feel the situation slip from her controlling hands, and she could see Jacopo was not doing well with his own slippery hands.

She gave him a compassionate look, one that she didn't give to many, but was perfectly fitting in the situation. The Godmother noticed a glass on a table, not yet emptied, with a clear liquid inside. From here, she couldn't tell if it was Vodka or something else. But the breath Jacopo harbored smelled far more sweet than your normal Slavic drink. She followed his steps, agreeing to getting to a more private place, even if this was all very private in its own, ghostly situation. She didn't speak, only observing the man and the way he walked, moved, trying to size the emotions of the Golden Crown's King, wondering if it was better to put him out of his misery now or hope that he'll climb back the slope...

She looked at him as the elevator started to rise, the doors closing in a slightly ominous way. Her lips were gaped in what made her face look like a worried painting. "I have men inside Southside, operating from there... It's a slow process and the rioters have weapons to back them up.... our weapons..." and Enigma's. It appears they all made a mistake in selling weapons to people who weren't on their side anymore. No even threats scared the rebel dogs. The PD wasn't even able to get inside Southside yet. The situation was dire for everyone, but getting the Bianchi back on track was what mattered to her. She couldn't care less about the rest as long as there was still a city to keep living in at the end.

Home? It sure looked like it became his home, the smell inhabiting the place was foul! She wrinkled her nose, but didn't comment on it, walking inside and looking around, her eyes travelling from the ceiling to the ground, wondering how a man could live here. She thought Jacopo to be better than this. Someone sure needed to pull his straps back up for him, slap some sense back into him. He invited her to sit, and she did, carefully and with a sigh, looking at her feet warily before staring back up at him. Her chest rose after he asked the reason of her visit and she shook her head. "You said it yourself, this needs to end. But I initially came to see you. People have told me it was bad but... I did not dare to imagine it was this_bad." she seemed to take many deep breaths at each stop she took, like she had a heavy weight on her shoulders.

"How much do you have left? Weapons, contacts who haven't turned on you.... grasp on the situation. I must know Jacopo. We need to make a move, and I need to know if I can count on your help, and your resources to do it." she was dead serious, and awaited his answer eagerly.

"If you can't find something to live for, then find something to die for."

JACOPO BIANCHI

The Crown Curfew

Here he stood in the elevator with the Godmother of his family, his boss, and he made it seem as though he were breaking down and was close to having a heart attack, again. Which he could be for all he knew, but he should definitely not be showing it and should be acting like everything was under control, which Jacopo did his best to make sure that it did. He cleared his throat and buttoned the jacket of his suit, fixing his tie.

When Delilah told Jacopo that the rioters had their weapons, it didn't surprise him in the slightest. "I'm sure they also have the weapons of third parties. Enigma is a growing pest, I wouldn't be surprised if they're using this riot for their own needs and are supplying them with weapons or even people. After all, it's what I would do."

Jacopo saw the split second disgust in Delilah's face as they entered his office, it wasn't dirty, but he had been sleeping in here the past couple of days without open windows, perhaps it was a smell that Jacopo had gotten used to. Regardless, out of respect, Jacopo opened the window behind his desk as wide as he could, and then sat down. The fresh air made his lungs feel young again.

"'Bad' is an understatement," He told her, embarrassed. "I'm doing my best to live this place up, but the only people that are currently playing our games are addicts or those that are stuck here. No one wants to leave their homes with the current riot, and if they do, it's definitely not to come play at the casino." He sighed, rubbing the tiredness from his eyes. "I apologize for my current unprofessionalism. I haven't been getting much sleep since all of this started and coffee has ceased to work."

When the Godmother asked him how much he had left, it somewhat scared him to tell her. "I have enough weapons left to equip our men, at least most of them. As for my contacts, many stayed loyal. However, around a quarter of them decided to either leave entirely or try and haggle us for more money. Those who have stayed in contact with me are still loyal and will give us whatever we need." Jacopo pushed his chair back from his desk and began to press away at the buttons of his safe. "I'm currently negotiating with those that are trying to rob us of our money, which I will not let them do. As for those that have left, I'm trying to get them back into our services, until then, I have sent some men to keep an eye on them and make them disappear were they to contact our enemies." The safe finally opened after a dozen digits and Jacopo grabbed a thick file, sliding it across his desk to Delilah. "Within that file are all of my contacts, those with an asterisk beside their name are those that have left our services. Those with a dollar sign are currently trying to use this riot to their advantage and milk more money from us. As for the rest, I can get whatever we need from them. Simply tell me what we need the most and I will deliver."

A Curfew

She could not help but chuckle at the man's words. "It might be the first time in a very long time, that we all have a hand in this. It's all our doing. And somehow, none saw it coming. Or maybe no one wanted to admit they saw it coming. So sadly enough, we can't blame just Enigma. It would be far too easy for us. Sure they probably furnished part of those gangs with weapons here and there, and so did we." The Godmother sighed, exhausted by the only thought of this whole ordeal. It was too much to work with...

Jacopo and Delilah weren't too far off from one another. In the current situation, they were both tired, stressed out, melting with each coming day under the prowling amount of work that came through their doors. Except Delilah was able to hide her weaknesses better than Jacopo apparently. She came here to help, and to get help. Not to pity him for hours or cry with him next to a bottle of scotch. "Sleep is for the dead. You'll get your clients back, I'll make sure of it, and we both have the power to balance this situation out. Even if it's not solved right away, I am sure we can come to a point where we aren't losing the game, quickly." she was determined and relaxed as she spoke that sentence. Perhaps because she truly believed her own words.

He let out a surprised huffed that nearly sounded like a whistle. "They asked for more money now? Do they not understand how business works here?" she muttered something along the lines of 'unbelievable', right under her breath as she looked out through the window, shaking her head. But she wasn't surprised that much by the rest of Jacopo's words. In fact she was expecting it. It was good enough news that not everyone left the man's loyalty. He had a lot going for him, and respecting him seemed to come naturally to most people. Most. Of course there were some like the idiots who didn't know better, carrying out demands of wealth when they know it's not the time.

"Those asking for more money should be reminded who pays them and under what conditions. I can send some of my hitmen and other assets to remind them those two things. And when all this is done, we'll have to find a way to reward those who stayed loyal." she got up to look at the document on the desk. She liked efficiency, even if it was in shape of little doodles next to names. "I can deal with some of those, and I already know that two in here have joined the riots in Southside. With, our weapons."

"Right now, we need men and weapons in Southside. The PD isn't doing much because they are afraid of getting themselves wet. It won't be long before they cut any negociations with the rebels and send in the SWAT teams. We should try to get in there before them with our own forces. If they find out that many of the guns in there were sold to the rebels by us, we will have a solid court judgment on our shoulders." she knew that this was their biggest risk right now. Seeing the SWAT teams barge through the barricades in Southside, see perhaps a few civilian casualties, but ultimately they would defeat the threat. And then, in the aftermath, they'll have an inventory of all the guns there. It's not hard to track a same brand of artillery down to a seller.

She slid the papers a little closer to herself before looking up at Jacopo. There was a small hint of worry in her eyes, something that wasn't there quite often. "Tell me, how do you feel? Do you need help in any way? I'm not asking about the current situation, I'm asking on a personal matter. I know you need to stay, but I can send people here for your own needs."
