After bombing the harbour, the new gang in town, Enigma, all but declared war on the most powerful family in the city, the Bianchi Family. Police struggled to capture the culprits and were well on their way to build a solid case against the Bianchi, but their hard work was set back once the police department was bombed. Now, the war between the two sides is more heated than ever, and the casualties only tend to grow.

Man is the only creature that refuses to be what he is.
Eyebrows furrowed as Albert stepped in, half-expecting the place to be packed with people fostering different problems in their own misled lives. Glancing through vacant tables, he confirmed that nobody was indeed around -- save for the two young couples making out at a table far from the bartender's establishment. He then shot a questioned look at the bartender who, in response, shrugged at how strangely barren everything appeared to be when it was just in fact 10 in the evening.
"Let me guess, the rapture happened am I right?" Albert asked, his curious eye still batting at the only two people around as they held hands and smooched passionately.
The bartender responded with a chuckle while he continued to wipe a tray of goblets with a clean, white cloth. "I'd say, it's just one of those nights." He then pulled a bottle from a shelf, preparing as if he already knew what his guest would order.
Albert grinned, taking a seat on a stool and leaned his arms as he got to the counter. He forced out a breath, clearing his throat as he was about to open his mouth to spark words of his favourite drink. The bartender finished it before anything could slip out of Albert's tongue, silencing the man as an appealingly mixed French 75 was placed conveniently in front of him. Truly something he'd end up being impressed, yet he thought the bartender could've been given enough credit if it weren't for the fact that the entire place was devoid of people.
"So, how's the scamming business going?" The bartender queried for which prompted Albert to raise an eyebrow.
"Scamming business? you make it sound like I'm doing something illegal, which I'm not mind you. Anyway, not quite smooth this week. Had a couple of unfortunate ditches."
"Ah, shame. Not a good way to start a promising career, I suppose."
Albert took a quick sip of his drink before noticing the smirk on the bartender's face.
"Yeah, and I suppose being a sarcastic prick is the reason why you're out of customers today."
With a snap of a finger, Albert drove the bartender into laughter which shortly had himself laughing as well. He had known the man for months and has become one of the people he felt connected to in terms of sharing some bits of his life and whatever was going on in his disorderly world of swindling. In time, Albert became a regular visitor of the place and his signature drink has been something that the bartender would delightfully prepare.
The charm of their laughter finally paid off. A few people stepped in as the glass door chimed. Albert took another drink as eyes peered, yet again, towards the couple sitting afar; they were somehow irritated.

no ones hero,
when you don't belong, you're always home
Ten pm and somehow Ruby was still needed to wear a skin tight dress after having thought that her job was over for today. Apparently, after being dragged around clubs by some Enigma friends and not quite being able to enjoy herself, instead of being allowed to go home she couldnt call it a day without getting a few actual drinks. Supposedly she wont find out why her drinking 'appetite' just wasnt there.
Her friends entered this bar and the girl went straight for the bathroom while the man suddenly saw a friend of his enter the bar too and went to chat. That left Ruby going to sit on a stoolchair, quite glad to be out of the party goers' grip for a few moments. "A martini, please." She'd rather go with a drink she knew, in a new bar, and the bartender was nice enough to comply. Another man was at the counter, who had earlier looked pretty content with chatting with the barman.
Blackwood decided that as long as her friends woudnt see her even pretending to have fun, then she'd be stuck here forever. And as such, shestarted a conversation, and perhaps it would even turn out to be fun? Who knows. "Not so scared to go out at this hour alone, huh?" He didnt look like he had any company besides the staff, really.

no ones hero,
when you don't belong, you're always home
Aside from the fact that her friends had now found another couple of pals or whatever and got themselves a table to talk and all - Ruby felt quite content with not being in the middle of the battlefront right now, aka the table of tipsy friends. She wasnt out here tonight to be the mom friend either, but she wasnt feeling the party.
The man next to her had quite the way of speaking, it reminded Ruby of the posh families in Europe during dancing balls or business parties. Her father used to host plenty of the latter, with the purpose of inviting potential new business partners and making ties, as well as subtly cutting others.
But then again, people with blue blood didnt use the thuggish 'wanna'. Rich people, maybe. But not those with native class, unless deprived of their strict lifestyle for too long.
It turned out that the Martini Ruby had ordered, put the woman on this smartass' mocking list or something similar. Hell, even the bartender cackled. But if he wanted mocking...
"Ah, yes, of course. The courtesy should be mutual. It's a pity the local does not benefit from such...high class clientele more often though, that's true. Perhaps that is to change now and then, of course." The blonde gave a wink to the smartass, still trying to figure out how did the world become like this - couldnt one just enjoy a damn Martini without being taken as some Bianchi equivalent or something? Even though, with Blackwood's family, it wouldnt be far from the truth. "And perhaps if I wasnt in a dress, I would have kicked your behind for stereotyping a drink." A chuckle followed as the bartender had placed the beverage on the counter, for the woman to take.
